The Great Entertainer
About This Spot
Stepping into The Great Entertainer feels like entering a cherished neighborhood retreat where time slows just enough to appreciate the simple joys of good company and a well-played game. Nestled on El Camino Real, this pool hall carries with it a sense of history and warmth that invites both serious billiards enthusiasts and casual visitors alike. The gentle clack of cues striking balls sets a steady rhythm, a familiar soundtrack to evenings spent unwinding and sharing laughs amid a welcoming crowd.
The pace here is easygoing—never rushed, always open to the possibility of a spontaneous match or a relaxed conversation over a cold drink. The space itself offers generous room to roam, allowing players to focus without feeling cramped, while the steady hum of activity keeps the atmosphere lively without feeling overwhelming. It’s a place where friendships are both formed and strengthened, where ping pong tables and arcade games add playful layers to the experience beyond the classic pool tables meticulously cared for by dedicated hands.
Food and drink here feel like natural companions to the games, fueling the social moments rather than taking center stage. The selection strikes a balance, satisfying cravings without pretense, making it easy to linger for hours whether you’re challenging a friend to a match or soaking in the live music on select nights. The ambiance reflects all of this—a friendly, down-to-earth haven that embraces community over flash.
At its heart, The Great Entertainer is not just a place to play but a local landmark where every visit holds the promise of human connection, quiet competition, and the kind of easy enjoyment that keeps you coming back. The attentive, friendly vibe from the people running the place completes the picture, making it a rare spot where you both belong and feel genuinely welcomed.

The Great entertainer is a landmark billiard hall that's been operating since the early '80s. The majority of the tables are Brunswick gold crown 3's maintained by the greatest table mechanic in the world Ernesto Dominguez. Just billiard Hall is a family friendly fun place to go and shoot some pool play some ping pong hang out with some friends eat some good food but it's also a pool players pool hall. There's nine ball and or eight ball tournaments on Monday nights. Go check it out you won't be disappointed.

This is a fun and entertaining place. No pun intended. It's relaxing and just the sounds of pool balls hitting each other. Plenty of space to move around and not hit each other's sticks. The bathrooms are clean and get the job done. On any busy day or evening, expect to find street parking or park across the street of el camino. The parking lot is small.

Ended up on live music event with a country guy (don’t remember his name). Music and drinks are awesome. Totally recommend!

Really had a good time. Not fancy but they don't need to be. Nice pool tables and a decent beer selection. Was a great time!!

Nice place, lots of tables, they sell beer, but no food. A family place for sure. Staff wore mask, and we did too when checking in but could take em off when at tables. Plenty of space between tables. Side note- My wife and I love playing pool, we work as electricians all over the bay area, so we go to different billiard rooms when ever we are in a new spot. This place is among the best so far, actually the best so far out of 6 different places.
